The icon of Agia Anastasia

This icon of Agia Anastasia is an heirloom belonging to the refugee family of Nikos Dimopoulos, the president of the ‘Agios Polykarpos’ Refugee Association of Heraklion.  On his mother’s side, Nikos Dimopoulos’ family left Vourla and settled in Heraklion. In 1930, the icon was passed on to his mother and eventually to him; a special keepsake to remind him of his ancestors and the land they left behind.
